Every trend that catches wind in the men’s improvement community always ends up getting blown out of proportion. Sometimes what the trend starts off as, sort of just disappears, and that term that was used to describe the trend becomes something else entirely. You know the saying “If something becomes popular, it’s time to distance yourself from it”. Enter looksmaxing. We can just go ahead and pour one out for it as this is basically lost its true meaning as of today. It started off as something quite simple. Men improving their style. That’s it. Nothing more and nothing less. Now it’s taken off and become a term or rather an excuse for highly effeminate men to push men’s style into something more metrosexual. If you want to interject the word “gay” to replace that you can go right ahead.

A man should absolutely care about his appearance but he should not care about his appearance, the way that a woman cares about her appearance. Women are attracted to men for many reasons. Men are attracted to women for few. A woman’s appearance is basically going to dictate how a lot of her experiences with men will turn out. Why? Because men prioritize looks, almost above anything else. This isn’t something we should be proud of because though it is right, that we should prioritize youth and beauty in women, sometimes it ends up, blinding us to character. And that’s where we go wrong. Women are indeed attracted to good looks, but that is in addition to other traits.

For the most part good looks open the door to be pleasantly accepted initially. That’s usually as far as it goes. You should absolutely care about your style as a man. However, it’s important that your style is masculine. When you turn looksmaxing into a primary way of getting women then that’s where it becomes destructive. Looksmaxing sort of came about from a term called peacocking. This was wildly used by the pick-up community back in the 90s and early 2000s. Even then it was highly effeminate. In case you didn’t realize, exceptionally beautiful and feminine women, don’t want men who exhibit the same traits as them. Androgyny attracts androgyny. Masculinized women are the only ones who will go for men that exhibit feminine traits. This union is an abomination, and will usually not end well.

Your style should be masculine in every way. There are ways to improve your appearance, without looking too soft or effeminate. Guys think that Michael Jackson, Prince and Mick Jagger got women because they wore high heels and wore skin tight jumpsuits. Yes, that is how clueless the average pick-up enthusiast is as to how a woman’s brain works.

You can improve your style and still maintain a strong aura of masculinity. But if you followed me long enough, then you understand that the way I give direction is by making you internalize that the journey starts from within. Improve your fitness, start wearing clothes that fit and learn to understand what colors go well with each other and more importantly, what colors match your skin tone and your body frame.
